• Hello and thank you for you question, Yes a DIRECTV remote can operate the sound bar. Connect the sound bar to the TV via HDMI ARC. Program the DIRECTV remote to the television. The TV connect via ARC will send the volume command to the sound bar. In some cases you might have to shut off the TV speakers in the TV menu.
