My husband has a Honda and he put it below the air vents and he turns his phone sideways and it works great.

I searched for and found a magnetic car mount on amazon that has a ball that the mount swivels on. It works great.
You can actually attach the magnetic sticker to the pop socket mount, then it will mount.

I think the one you're talking about is the one that glues to the car. I recently switched to the one that connects to the grille of the ventilation system, and that avoids the issue of not having a place to stick the original Pop Clip.

I had an 2014 Accord also, and I placed mine on the right, middle side of the radio screen. It WILL NOT stay permanently, so if you choose to relocated it, you'll be fine to do so.

I put mine on the outside of the vanity mirror on the driver's sun visor. I can still glance up quickly when I'm running Google Maps. Because the visor is down it does create an issue when you are the first or only one stopped at a light (you can't see when it turns green). When I just want to use my phone for streaming audio through the sound system and charge it, I have a pop socket clip installed on the underside of the flip up door covering the beverage holders. You can position it so when your phone is attached it doesn't hinder use of the beverage holders.

Have you tried opposite the volumen knob, there seems to be enough space and you can mount the phone with the popscoket extended
