If I understand your question correctly, your inquiry was whether the item in the back swivels. I have one, it does rotate & maneuver, but it does so in a very manageable way.
It is designed so that the rotation is very controllable & sturdy. 
It is very stable & if it does not measure up to your standards you can always return.

IT DOES NOT SWIVEL. YOU JUST PULL IT STRAIGHT OUT OR PUSH IT IN. ONCE ITS ALL THE WAY OUT THE PHONE WILL REST ON IT AND IT WORKS AS A PHONE STAND.

It does not freely swivel. However, there is a way you can get it to bend at an angle, but that is to help when you want to remove it ... This does not affect its stability

It does, but only if you swivel it on the original mount. Fake popsockets do swivel all over the place. That’s how you can tell real!from fake, it won’t stay put.
