Chicken and meat will generally not need oil, but vegetables may, if only for better results.

No, it doesn’t but in the booklet given with different meals to cook. I believe they have like 2 meals on their regarding foods that can be cooked with oil but I haven’t used oil & everything’s cooked really well with a nice tasty crisp! I hope this helps :)
