The Thermador Team has no idea what they are talking about. This griddle is not designed to fit your Thermador Range top. It will not fit if you remove your existing grate. It is just a generic slab of metal that you place on top of your existing grates. Complete waste of money if you are looking for an integrated finished look.

It is made to fit over two burners on your cooktop, and can be placed over the two center burners. Yes you would remove the existing grates before placing the griddle plate onto the appliance.
