Safely placed in the storage position, this treadmill should not offer a hazard to kids. It is not meant for children, however, so make sure your kids know it is off limits. It is heavy duty enough to stand its ground and cannot be pushed over by accident.

It comes down slowly, however, I would not chance it with kids, esp if there's more than one child. It's not that difficult to let down.

Hello. You should be good. It locks and you have to push the hydraulic with your foot and slightly push the treadmill up before it comes down. Hope that helps.
