Can I set up the certain functions or macros with those buttons on the side? I won't be using it for gaming but in stead for excel/accounting work. I'm hoping I can set up some sort of automation for simple things like save, print, exit, enter, undo, etc null

Yes with the software they are fully mappable. It can be single keys per button, or entire complex macro strings including embedded timed delays between certain parts. They can also be windows OS or music events like volume or cut/copy/paste/minimize/showdesktop etc.
