They make one that inserts in the microphone hole on your phone, and they make this one (it fits in my iPhone's charging slot). Theoretically you swipe the debit/credit card and the amount you charge goes into a holding place on Square, then they transfer the money to the bank account that you have linked to. You can do an "instant transfer" for an additional fee. Note - my experience is that the swiper never reads the cards. I always have to enter the card number manually which costs me more in processing fees
