Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately the RBC17 would not work with the BK500. The BK500 would require a RBC2.

Go to the APC website and they have a section that lets you enter your UPS model and gives the correct replacement battery.

The BK500 uses an RBC2 battery... so IMHO... the RBC17 would not work.
