I don't have an answer but would like to know how many feet I need to be to get the wi-fi to connect to my phone. I have the camera posted about 12 feet in the air and still can't get it to connect standing directly under it.

It helps because you don't need to open up the camera to do it and that keeps you from moving it. However, if the camera gets very sensitive and takes a lot of pictures (windy days are a killer!), then the wi-fi isn't that useful. I end up bringing the SD card in to clean up and transfer...
