There are multiple types of the roku, with this one as long as your tv has a hdmi port you can use this. Id recommend getting hulu live after doing a lot of search and comparing that's what i found the best for price and get the channels i wanted to have.

As long as you have a HDMI plug in the back of the tv it will work fine

You would need to get Hulu live or Sony vue in order to have live tv
