No, this remote is not backlit. Honestly, at times when lights are down I use the free Roku app on my iPhone which works brilliantly and adds the ability to type searches far more quickly.

No. That would be great considering the price for this vs other models. I don't think they offer that at all though.

The remote does not have a back light. However, the purple keypad and buttons are still visible when I am watching movies in a dark room. My TV provides enough light. I don't need to see the buttons. The home, fast forward, and reverse arrows are easy to feel in the dark. There is a microphone button to speak if you know the title or genre you are looking for. I uploaded a picture of my remote with the lights off.
