• Yes, im currently using a surface pro 4 keyboard on my surface pro 8 where the magnets arent even compatible with each other and it still closes

• I've had this item (in black) for over a year now and I'm very happy with the purchase. I don't think that this cover was designed to be closed with the keyboard attached, but is meant to be folded back when lying flat. The strap on the back is there to help you hold on to the computer by slipping your hand through it. However, when using the Surface Pro 8 as a tablet with the keyboard removed, the cover closes perfectly.

• You can, it's tight and you use the strap to keep it closed
