Tbh, didn't have much sticking power. So, I wouldn't be worried about residue. Mine could have been dry too but could be that it's not perfectly aligned like it's supposed to be. Bought 2 versions. 12 pro max doesn't fit correctly and giggles. 14 max pro fits perfectly. Both does not stick well. Just waiting for them to fall off

You can rub it off with rubbing alcohol.
