Yes, you can use to direct monitor while recording and playback as well. Only the problem is, it picks surrounding noises while playing back since the mic. is on.

This headphone jack allows you to use the Go Mic as your computer's output so that you can listen back to recordings, and hear all other sounds, videos, etc that would output out of your speakers normally!
