Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The magnetron that generates the microwaves in ANY microwave oven is always going to generate sound. The rattle is something else, perhaps the motor for rotation platter is faulty. My unit works great and has no rattle at start up or even later. You might want to get it exchanged.
