• The SMH1622B can be set up to vent outside from the rear or top of the unit, or filtered air can be recirculated into the room from vents located in the front that are concealed from view. - Ms. Samsung

• You can Set up / Configure or Non- Outside Venting use. It's covered in the owners Manual you can Download from the Samsung web site. Just Google Samsung. The factory setting is for Outside Venting, But you can Change that. Follow directions in the owners manual.
