“Can you use this as a built in? Can you build this into cabinets or does the bottom have to be open for ventilation? Going to use a hood vent over our range but I like this microwave and would like to build it into a cabinet.”

Thanks for your interest, Lcn. The MC17J8000CS is designed to be installed over a range or counter where it can be attached to both a cabinet above it and the wall behind it. Resting it on top of a surface is not advisable because it has no legs to support it, and doing so could damage the cook top lights and exhaust fan underneath. In addition, if the lights or fan were turned on accidentally, the surface beneath it could become damaged. Samsung does have several Countertop Microwave models to choose from, including one that has a trim kit accessory available for a built-in look. Perhaps you'd like to consider the MC12J8035CT Microwave and MA-TK3080CT Trim Kit for this purpose. - Ms. Samsung
