Hi Grace,

Thanks for the question. The ME18H704SFS uses a 40-watt incandescent bulb to illuminate the interior of the Microwave. Instructions for replacing the bulb, if necessary, can be found on page 22 of the User Manual.

Due to the interior of this microwave being black, the inside light appears dim. Seems dim to me only because my old microwave had a white interior & gave the illusion of being much brighter inside.

Check the wattage limit of the bulb and in the owner's manual.you may be able to put a higher wattage bulb in.if not,buy an led bulbof equal comparable wattage.

I think the light has multiple intensity settings.
