• No. My opening is maybe 30 1/8 and fits perfectly. Just make sure the depth of your cabinet is less than 14 inches or you might have problems

• Yes, you need about a 3/4” to 1” of clearance so the door will swing open. We shoehorned our appliances into an apartment we built above our garage.
