Ok, if 9 months later you’re still needing help, here we go. First, you can ignore the last answer to your question as it was no help at all. What you need to know is that in order for this soundbar to play what your tv is playing, sound wise, you need to get the sound signal from the tv to the speakers. There are a few different ways to do this. If your tv would support ARC(Audio Return Channel), which I don’t believe your tv does, then the sound signal can be delivered through an hdmi cable to the soundbar. Since you were unable to find ARC in your tv’s settings then it’s probably not there. Next you should try an optical cable from the ‘optical out’ in your tv to the optical in on the soundbar. This will deliver the tv’s sound to the speaker and from my experience this method has always been plug and play. No menu searching. A quick google search should confirm that your Toshiba doesn’t support ARC.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The tv arc is not required. The use of tv arc is when you turn off your tv, the sound bar also turns off and vice verse for turning them on. It also allows you to control the sound of it with the tv remote.
