• Hi There, No, I verified that this microwave is designed to be installed in a cabinet depth above and beside the unit at a maximum of 12 inches. This already comes with a top and wall mounting template. Have a great day! ^Chrystel

• Yes. Just add a 1x4 or the thickness you need to the back wall to move the mounting plate forward. Bump out as Wayne said. Worked for me perfectly.
