• No, there is a part that comes with microwave that goes between microwave and cabinet to prevent air from blowing out around it

• Good question Judy! Because this microwave is designed to be installed above a range, it has a ventilation system built in for both the cooktop and the microwave, and it will blow air out of the vents. ^Jecca
