definitely quieter than my old fridge which used to wake me up in the middle of the night, but it does make a sound just not so loud and jarring.

Please try again later.I read reviews before I bought this refrigerator and heard all sorts of things about the ice cubes dropping, etc. I have 2 other family members who bought this similar model a few years ago and they had no issues. Still, I was a little concerned but bought it anyway and I have not experienced the sound of a gunshot going off--maybe a silencer. I hear the cubes drop if I'm in the kitchen, but it isn't loud. And the cubes are fine--they're a normal size.
