Hi there Mike! I'm happy to help with all your concerns. It sounds like the child lock might be engaged, causing the buttons on the control panel to not respond. This link (https://bit.ly/3fqAGAh) can walk you through how to turn off the child lock. As for the ice production, we generally recommend allowing 24-48 hours after installation for normal ice production to begin.
