Hi NoWater. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I appreciate your taking the time to raise this inquiry regarding the 28 cu. ft. Large Capacity 3-Door French Door Refrigerator. The water line kit is only needed to filter the water for your ice maker. Since you've already mentioned that you are planning on leaving the ice maker in the off position, a water line is not required.
