Ours is brand new not even a month old and we've noticed the same thing. Can't figure out what is going on? Possibly a manufacturers defect?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just an FYI, i never had the ice maker freeze on on my 2011 this model fridge. Some times we don't use the ice maker for some length of time, so I turn off the ice maker and clean out the ice cubs that accumulated in the back of the ice maker tray. I saw that if we did not run the ice maker every week then it created this build up of ice cubs in the back of the ice maker tray.

Options are to leave the fridge door open to defrost it (2 days) or pay over $300 for service (that is for the part, not the labor). This is evidently an ongoing problem with Samsung fridges - Google this before you buy. Samsung offered to pay for labor, not parts.

I had the same refrigerator repaired four times in about nine years, each time with the then newest solution employed. Bottom line - it appears nearly impossible to design or repair this problem out of the system. Best bet may be to buy a refrigerator with the ice maker located wholly within the freezer compartment.
