My guess is since the 32 inch HDTV measures 31.5 inches diagonally and the two feet look to be about 2-3 inches inside the outside edge on each end of the TV frame, you would require a base of at least 34 inches wide, better if wider, 35, 36, 37, etc. I too was concerned with this question, but I will purchase a wall mount if necessary.
