I have no issues connecting to my WiFi from my patio or the the garage. I also just have the standard modem from Comcast with no boosters. I was happy enough to buy a second TV. Plus liked the price.

Good rule of thumb is that an excellent TV isn't much good without an excellent antenna (kind of like speakers in a sound system); so if you do not already have a good antenna, you should research a little, and maybe spend a few more bucks for a good one. Also, keep in mind that the native/ best resolution on this TV is 720p, so you don't necessarily have to get a real high end antenna unless you would think of going with a full HD TV (1080p) instead (or later on).
