“The most important thing about the monitor is it's surface texture if it is non glare it's no good for photo works or movies but good for text. If it has the shiny surface the blacks are deeper and the appearance of images much better. What is this?”

This monitor has a matte, non-glare texture. It does _not_ produce as deep blacks as a glossy screen surface, which is definitely evident when editing photos with Lightroom. Great for text work, fine for movies. Not good for real photo work.
