“Do you really have to shut off the water to the frig when you change the water filter? I can't imagine pulling the frig out and shutting water off just to change filter.”

Hi there, I can answer that for you. Samsung does recommend shutting the water supply off and relieving the pressure from your Water Filter Housing. This will allow you to remove and replace the filter with ease and no damage can occur. Also you can tackle the maintenance of the back of the fridge to ensure no dust build up.
