No. Dispenser fills up automatically when the door is closed. Pitcher presence and fill level are detected by sensors. You cannot fill with door open, but you can always get the model with the beverage dispenser.

The water dispenser only works with the pitcher firmly in place. You may fill a glass with the pitcher, then replace the pitcher and it will be refilled when you close the door

For the Bespoke pitcher can be removed from both the auto refill model and the beverage center model. I use it to fill my water bottle for work.

However, the model with the beverage center (only) gives a secondary source of water via the water dispenser.

The water pitcher does have ability to be removed to pour into glasses/cups and then replaced to refill the pitcher. It basically takes the place of having a water dispenser on the outside of the fridge.
