The pitcher has a small cylindrical chamber with holes in it, into which you can place slices of cucumber/lemon/whatever. It stays in the pitcher and doesn't get anywhere else. It's good to only use it for a day or two before cleaning out the pitcher--it gets funky pretty quickly, but it's delightful!

Hi Arturo, Fruits can be put in the infuser to create an infused water based on your preference. We highly recommend consuming fruit-infused water within 24 hours to avoid it from being spoiled. ^Rodel
