• Thank you for the question. Though the WA400PJHDWR washer itself is only 29.3" deep, Samsung recommends leaving at least 6" behind it for the water and drain connections and 2" in front for closet installations, making the ideal total depth about 37". I've attached an image from the user manual showing the minimum clearances for closet and alcove installations for your reference. - Ms. Samsung
