Thanks for the question. There are a number of factors affecting the amount of water that's used in different stages of the wash and rinse portions of the cycle, so I can't tell you how much is used in the rinse specifically. However, I can tell you that Samsung HE top loaders, including the WA400, use about 18-25 gallons per load depending on which cycle and options are selected. - Ms. Samsung

Obviously I can't answer scientifically and the lid is locked so I can't look in, but I can tell you that my previous washer used to fill the laundry sink next to the unit almost 3/4 full. In the cycles that I have l watched empty into the sink it fills at most 1/2 full, so I definately believe it is using considerably less, even with using an extra rinse, which I use frequently.
