• The lid on the WA5451 is designed to close slowly if released when partially open to help prevent it from slamming shut. - Ms. Samsung

• Hi, this one does have slam proof....however, mine doesn't since day one, it depend on the one you get, some does slam proof very well, but mine just happen to be loosen a bit and don't do it very well....but if you are able to check out a floor model at the store, you should try and see yourself, again, it's not 100% your slam proof will work, unless Samsung consider this defective and offer technician to fix it?
