I paid the 49$ for the extended warranty although Samsung has a warranty on the tv I believe that for 49 bucks it’s worth putting the extra coverage on in this case. I don’t always buy the warranty that other companies offer when I purchase things such as a toaster or something along those lines but on my electronics if anything goes wrong I just bring it back too Best Buy or they come out replace it no questions asked I believe for 5 years
