• I have this same setup. Wifi does not have to be used and can be left off. Connected AppleTV 4k into HDMI4, changed settings on Samsung at Power On to start on HDMI4.

• I never tried turning them off, just use a start up input of your choice and it’s not a problem. Starts on fire stick for me.
