We have to get a soundbar as our room is large and we have to practically sit on top of TV to hear movies. We are elderly and hearing is not as good as it used to be but do not need hearing aids and still have trouble hearing everything said in a movie.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If by "adequate" sound, you mean loud, then yes. Lack of volume is my one area of dissatifaction with this TV. Seems this size & price point should offer better speakers. Good luck!
