Yes, it does process non-HD signals. Based on the fact that our channel listing displays "HD" beside those shows that have it indicates that some channels that do not have the HD logo displayed must not be HD. The definition is not as sharp, of course, but it is reasonably clear.

Yes. I watch old Andy Griffith and Frasier reruns all the time. They are filmed in the old technology black and white film process. Definitely not HD! This TV does it all.
