Is the width between the legs 36 in or 38.5 in? null

From the outer edge of the left leg to the outer edge of the right leg (as you face the TV)is 37.25 inches... so the stand would have to be at least this wide. The space between the TV legs is 36.25 (The legs slant outward as you face the TV , so that is where that .25 comes from rather than a straight 36 in.)
