We just got ours a couple weeks ago and I have used the top only several times. So the answer is yes. but I would tell you it cooks quickly with convection heat. It also heats up much more quickly making it more efficient for both time and energy. Each section can operate as a separate oven or take out the partition and its one large oven. Its pretty impressive so far.
