How wide is the oven really? I am looking for the area from side to side. I know it has that overlap feature on top to prevent food from falling into the gap thereby making it 31~ inches but can it fit into a 30~ inch opening? null

Yes the opening needs to be at least 30". Most professional installers for cabinetry would leave 30 1/8 so your counter top would be flush with your cabinets +1/16 which will give you an opening of 30" . The top of the stove over laps your counter top.

Yes it can fit into a 30" opening. The overlap goes over your countertops. From side to side it is 29.75".
