There is an open grid behind the 5 burners at the very back of the stovetop. If oil or sauce gets into that area, does it just slide down without a way to clean it up? Is there a catch tray somewhere to ease in cleaning? How can it be cleaned easily? null

Hi there! 
Yes, you're able to remove the grid and wipe any spillage that is visible. If anything drips into the vent, you can run a Self-Clean cycle.  For more information on how to do this, check the page 37 of the user manual.
