“Is the remote a universal or a Samsung smart profile. I have read many reviews that say the universal has a hard time pairing with periferals.”

We are using the Samsung remote and it works fine. It also wants to pair with our other Samsung TV by turning it on. Haven’t figured out how to de-couple the other TV yet. We select the cable option at the bottom of the screen to use our cable remote for cable programs. It seems to be working as it supposed to.
