This TV has 2 HDMI ports, and you could hook a DVD or Blu-ray player into either one. The TV will recognize when you plug something into an HDMI port and will try to automatically identify it so that the TV's remote control can be used to control the DVD/Blu-ray player. If the TV can't automatically identify the device, there's a way to manually identify the device. I suspect that not all DVD/Blu-ray players can be known to the TV (so that the TV's remote can be used to control the player), but I would guess that almost all DVD/Blu-ray players could be used with the TV (if you used the player's remote control to control the player).

If your VCR does not support HDMI, you will need an RCA to HDMI converter like this one. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-rca-to-hdmi-converter-black/6134312.p?skuId=6134312 ~Samsung Advisor
