• Yes, Maddy, the range will still work even if you do not connect it to the SmartControl feature. Connecting to the SmartControl via the SmartThing feature using your phone is an additional feature that will help you send cooking instructions to your oven, give you energy usage alerts, monitor meal status, and so much more. If you want to try using the SmartThing Feature, please see page 30 under the "Smart Control" section of the manual for more details.
