No it does not but it does have a screen saver so if there is no changes to the channel or volume after a while it will appear.

Hi Stew! The AU8000 does not feature a motion sensor to turn your TV on as you enter the room. This feature is exclusive to the Samsung Frame TV designed to be a TV when it's on and Art when it's off.
