There is a noticeable difference in the picture quality. This 8K TV has 33,177,600 pixels versus 8,294,400 for a 4K TV. This allows for a much sharper picture, expecially noticeable in the edges of text, etc. Further, this model had the maximum number of back lighting zones that Samsung TVs provide, thus giving the same blacker blacks as the highest end Samsung 4K model. The TV upscales everything to 8K for display regardless of the resolution of the source material, and this TV does a fantastic job in the upscaling. Because of the pixel count and this upscaling, all content is crisper and clearer. This model is the flagship model for the entire Samsung line.
