What is the difference between Q6 and a Q8? null

The Q8 has full array back-lighting while the Q6 is edge lit. The rest of the differences are not as significant.

I suggest checking the Samsung website for more information. But, one of the main differences between the two is that the Q6 is EDGE Lit and the Q8 has FULL ARRAY LOCAL DIMMING (FALD). During a commercial, on and EDGE lit Q6, you can still see the TV lit up as the edge lights do their work. On a Q8, with the lights BEHIND the panel, during a commercial, the screen is completely BLACK as if turned off. Also, when you a watch a movie that is letterboxed, Edge lighting lights up the top and bottom of the screen just a little. FALD does not as the top and bottom stay completely black. The Q6 is still an awesome TV anyway. You really cant go wrong with either one.
